DESCRIPTION

This ‚Floris‘ table, designed by Günter Beltzig in 1967, is a significant collector’s piece of German post-war design. This specimen belongs to the extremely rare first series, identifiable by the original logo embossing of Brüder Beltzig Design (BBD) from Wuppertal. The symbol – a circle with four inner circles – certifies the object as an authentic piece from the very beginning. While later models were industrially manufactured, this BBD edition stands out as a hand-laminated small-batch production, featuring a sculptural, anthropomorphic form made of glass-fiber reinforced polyester (GRP). An object that dissolves the boundary between furniture and modern art.

CONDITION

The table is in an authentic condition with a distinct patina. The lacquered surface shows isolated chips and blemishes. Please note that the surface may have been refinished or repainted at an earlier date. The structural integrity of the GRP body is flawless. These signs of age and use are comprehensively presented in the attached images.
