For sale is an iconic Maralunga lounge chair with a matching ottoman, designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina. According to the previous owner, this set dates back to the late 1970s. The ensemble is upholstered in a premium Cassina fabric featuring its characteristic striped texture in an elegant earthy-grey tone that beautifully changis from lighter to darker depending on the illumination and has a velvet-like feel. The adjustable backrest mechanisms function flawlessly, offering flexible, high-end comfort. A timeless design masterpiece with a strong sculptural presence.
CONDITION
The set is in a well-maintained and good vintage condition. Commensurate with age, normal and charming traces of time are possible in the fabric over the decades – those looking for flawless, brand-new items are in the wrong place, but those who appreciate an authentic design piece with character and a sense of history will find exactly what they are looking for. A small, non-visible hole is located in the underlying lining fabric of the chair (captured in image 26).
