DESCRIPTION
This table lamp is a puristic design object featuring a remarkable lighting effect, sourced from an architect’s estate and dating back to the late 1960s according to the previous owner. A clear glass globe with a subtle ribbed texture rests on a sleek metal base with a fine, muted patina. When illuminated, the glass refracts the light in a captivating manner, casting a gentle, cloud- or wave-like pattern onto the wall. Twisting the upper cylinder releases three clamps holding the globe, making bulb changes and transport effortless. Due to this handling, the upper cylinder displays a slightly higher sheen. Additionally, the lamp is equipped with an in-line dimmer.
To preserve the authentic patina and historical character of the piece, intensive cleaning or polishing has been intentionally omitted. Depending on personal preference, the metal surface can presumably be polished back to a high shine with minimal effort.
CONDITION
The table lamp is in a very well-maintained overall condition with minor age-appropriate signs of wear and an authentic patina on the metal surfaces. The glass globe remains in good condition. The mounting mechanism, dimmer, and wiring are functional. The detailed photographs accurately document the overall condition and form an integral part of the item description.
