DESCRIPTION
A captivating pair of sculptural lamps that evoke a mystical lunar landscape through their organic form and surface texture. Designed by André Cazenave in 1969 for the renowned Atelier A, this design is considered a milestone of French Space Age aesthetics. The lamps consist of a fiberglass body masterfully coated by hand with genuine marble powder, giving them both the appearance and the tactile roughness of natural stone. When lit, they diffuse a warm, atmospheric glow that impressively highlights the texture of the ‚moon rock‘.
CONDITION
Considering their age, both lamps are in good original condition. The marble-powder-coated surface shows normal, age-related signs of use as well as some abrasion or superficial contact marks (please see photos for details). There are no structural cracks in the fiberglass.
