Rectangular Coffee Table by Peter Ghyczy | Netherlands 1980s

This piece is an elegant, rectangular coffee table by renowned designer Peter Ghyczy from the Netherlands. The minimalist design features four striking, profiled legs made of solid cast brass that form a solid base. The heavy, clear glass plate is held directly at the corners and securely fixed using the legs‘ sophisticated clamping technique. This creates a sculptural piece of furniture that, despite its high-quality materials, radiates a wonderful visual lightness. The table comes from a well-maintained architect’s estate and was purchased in the late 1980s according to the previous owner.

The coffee table is in a very good, well-maintained original condition. The brass legs show a light, authentic patina. The heavy glass top exhibits only a few age-related signs of wear and is free of deep scratches or chips in the edge area.
